First Fourth

For my first Fourth of July weekend in Boston, I will be
  • Leaving work at 1:00 p.m.
  • Hunting for a book at Harvard Bookstore (15% off fiction Friday).
  • Cleaning my room and unpacking my suitcase.
  • Biking (??) to a farmer's market with Mel.
  • Building a bookcase for my homeless books.
  • Exploring an estate sale in Newton with Mel.
  • Dining in the North End.
  • Attending church in our newly-finished Longfellow building.
  • Enjoying the Boston Pops dress rehearsal on picnic blankets with snacks.
  • Reorganizing all my books.
  • Barbecuing on the patio.
  • Renting a canoe to paddle up the Charles and watch the fireworks.
  • Avoiding falling into the Charles with Anne Marie (we're a little concerned).
Good plans? I think so.

Slightly sad about missing Provo's hot air balloon launch, though.

  2. That sounds so fun! I'm so jealous! We used to watch the fireworks on the Charles every year!

  3. Sooo, my friend Daniel did the same thing, I think. You might have met him and may even know him already. Just thought I'd throw it out there that two of my friends should also be friends. His blog is linked on mine. Obviously.

  4. So, based on Charlotte's comment, our friendship is kind of like the Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics (yes, that's a thing) which states that if A is in thermal contact with B, and B with C, then A is in thermal contact with C. Our mutual friendship with Charlotte necessitates a friendship between us. I'm ok with that.

There's one for all you English-major people who think that 1) physics is not cool and 2) physicists can't make a decent metaphor.

    ...

Actually, that last one might still be true.

  5. 1) I never said physics wasn't cool.

    2) Am I A or C?
